Salon History

Monique's Techniques has been in the industry of hair care for over 30 years and is recognized as one of the top salons in the Tri-State area located at 124 Storms Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey in the heart of McGinley Square. Monique's Techniques is an upscale beauty salon with the most sophisticated techniques in beauty care the world has to offer, all under one roof.

All staff members are board certified cosmetologist and have completed extensive training in the hair care industry. Continuing education allows the staff to remain on the cutting edge of the newest advances in beauty care. The salon specializes in hair replacements, razor hair cutting, hair coloring, natural hair care, hair extensions and eyelash extensions. We also do make-up which provides our clients with Runway and Commercial finishing. Renowned as a salon for the elite Monique's Techniques also provides personalized hair care services and bridal services.

Monique's Techniques by way of our Mo' Hair Foundation has for the past 22 years has opened its doors to the public and served home cooked meals on Thanksgiving Day to the less fortunate. The salon closes its doors the night before Thanksgiving and volunteers come from all over to assist in converting this work of art into a buffet style feeding ground! Food and monetary donations are contributed and prepared by clients, family, friends, and local businesses.

Monique also has a hair salon at Christ Hospital in Jersey City where she gives free hair replacement to men, women and kids who lose there hair to cancer, alopecia, lupus, tragedies any sickness that causes hair loss.

We offer gift certificates as well as walk-ins upon availability. Please be aware that we are an adult facility children are not permitted in the salon, unless being serviced and accompanied by a parent. We enforce this policy for the safety of your child and appreciate you respecting it.

Please notify us 24 hrs in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you do not cancel at least 24 hrs prior to your appointment you will be charged a $25 cancellation fee.
